Alicia Mugetti, is a leading figure in the international Art Fashion World.
Ms. Mugettiâs designs are inspired by natural elements, such as water, fire, air, earth, and by the transformation caused by natural erosion of time. Having developed special techniques to change modern silks, chiffons, rayon and velvets into colors and designs reminiscent of ancient Roman glass, Greek friezes and Boticelli Graces with modern sensibilities, she transforms woman into Goddess.
In addition to her continuous study of art, ancient cultures and mythology, Ms. Mugettiâs experience studying various forms of dance and movement â Isadora Duncan, Argentine Tango and Middle Eastern Dance - have heightened her awareness of the female body, resulting in pieces which flow comfortably with the bodyâs natural movements. For her, designing is a tactile, sculptural experience, and as with any three-dimensional art form, she is acutely aware of how light affects shape.
From modern and dramatic styles to softer, more tailored fashions, she has designed for many artists and celebrities, including Barbra Streisand, who is seen on the cover of her current CD, âTimelessâ in Ms.Mugettiâs design.
